With this project I question the spectators’ point of view on artistic exchange. Using QR codes again, I ask a question, on answering they’ve been obliged to interact. In doing so, the spectator takes a stance on the work of art. It’s a trivial game, the spectator is exposed and has to assume a role in the communication process, participation which is otherwise blurred within the anonymity of the “audience” concept. The strict prejudices hidden within a language reach both language content and the individuals involved. In the same way that modern processes have evolved to blur art authorship, so has popularization of art and mass culture done with the receiver.
In QuestionART I seek to recover the public’s active function by making the viewer aware of their role in artistic communication.
